Heat and Pressure

Flashes ephemeral

Jewels of glass, set upon my brow

Concentration

Perspiration is my crown

Ruling over visions

Extracting diamonds from within

Pressure forming stones that glisten

Reflecting light most dim

Beauty juxtaposed to coal black origins

The many facets, faces looking back

Telling a history of life beneath the cracks

Ages passed before emergence

Heat

Pressure

Making diamonds in the darkness

Suspended Below

As the world closes in

Narrows ’round your eyes

A sense of panic breaks

A storm comes with the tide

Crashing like the waves

Blood rushing past your ears

Flow ebbing through your veins

Heart beating loud and clear

Crushing like the ocean

Abysmal fathoms, deeper fears

Dragged down by emotion

Pressures great

Waters unclear
