Closing out the year
Another cycle ends
Weather juxtaposed
Last year’s snow
Winter’s dread
Seasons pay no heed to dates
Carving up the calendar
Each claiming their own stake
Darkened hours before the light
Sun surfacing slowly
Winter nights draw on
Cold heart
Cold hands and feet
Rise in the morning
Mistake it for dusk
Back to bed
Going back to sleep
When the light fails to pierce
Dark days in the Sun
Lingering in shadow’s essence
World comes undone
Risk it all
Bet on a better day
Make a change
Do it for tomorrow’s sake
Quit wasting precious time
Life is short
Take all the chances you can find
I’m a fixture
A feature of this place
Inseparable
Part of the facade
Static disposition
Stuck at home
I’d hardly call it living
Final months before the snow falls
Half a year in the cold
